If you love Florida lobster, then there is no better place for you to be than in Key West this August!
Florida Spiny Lobster
Differences in lobsters can be seen in their claws and pinchers. The Florida Spiny Lobster, for example, does not have front claws like the American or Maine Lobster. Florida Lobsters, commonly referred to as warm water lobsters because of their habitat, are caught for their tail meat.
The tails of Florida Lobsters are a true ocean delicacy. Their tails offer a more unique, sweet and buttery taste than the lobsters to the north. Lobster Season is August 6th through March 31st, so don’t miss out on this treat!
Maine Lobster
If Florida Lobster isn’t your thing, don’t fret because Key West also offers Maine Lobster. For the best lobster rolls outside of Bangor, Maine, visit The Lobster Shack. At the southernmost point in Key West, you can find your New England favorites, including clam chowder and lobster grilled cheese.
The local favorite is their key lime lobster roll, so make sure to stop by and try one during your stay!
