Shipwreck Treasures Museum

“How Legends of Cursed Spanish Treasure came to be.”

October 1654. Treasure: silver, coins, and ingots, salvaged from the largest wreck of the Spanish fleet, The Jesús María de la Limpia Concepción, would later be involved in THREE additional catastrophic shipwrecks. The deadliest, The Neustra Senora de las Maravillas in 1656. Over 620 lives were lost to the sea. These series of disastrous historic events paved the way for maritime legends of CURSED Spanish Treasure. Today visitors to the Key West Shipwreck Treasures Museum can lift a silver bar from the ill-fated wreck… if they dare!
