While in Key West you will likely sample all the grub that our tropical island is famous for, conch fritters, key lime pie, pink shrimp, and all variety of fresh seafood. You may even nosh on a cheeseburger in paradise. If you find yourself hankering for an easy meal of pizza, whether it’s a gourmet pie or a late night slice, Key West has you covered with a few delicious local pizzerias all lining Duval Street.
Upper Crust
If you feel like sitting down with a group of friends or the whole family, Upper Crust is the spot. Order a large pie and feel free to get creative. They’ve got every topping under the sun. Invent your own pie or select from one of their creations including their take on the Hawaiian pizza, pesto lovers, meat lovers and more. If you’re feeling particularly gluttonous, create your own calzone. The slice of the day is always a good option usually combining three or four ingredients such as chicken, black olives, artichokes, and red peppers.
Angelina’s
On your Duval crawl, you might find yourself belly grumbling for a quick bite. Stop by the Angelina stand for a slice of pizza heaven. Keep it simple and go for cheese, pepperoni, or sausage. Grab a bottle of hot sauce and douse your pizza with it for some extra spice. Munch on it on the street or at a few tables on the patio with a prime view of the mayhem spilling from Rick’s upstairs.
Mr. Z’s
For a late night meal when nothing else is open, you’ll see all the locals gathered at Mr. Z’s. Sure, they’ve got plenty of pizza, but it’s the cheese steaks that really get you drooling. With tender roast beef, sautéed onions and mushrooms swimming in melted provolone, you’ll fall asleep with a smile on your face.
