Key West Artisan Market Dives into Sustainability with ‘Ocean Awareness’ Edition

The Key West Artisan Market: Ocean Awareness Edition takes place on Sunday, April 13, from 10 AM to 2 PM at Clarence H. Higgs Memorial Beach, in the parking lot of Sonny McCoy Indigenous Park (1801 White Street), right across from White Street Pier. This special edition is dedicated to celebrating and protecting our oceans, with guest participation from the environmental nonprofit Reef Relief.

Founded in 1987, Reef Relief is committed to improving and protecting the coral reef ecosystem through education, research, and outreach. Their team will be onsite to share how we can all become guardians of the sea, offering practical tips for reducing ocean pollution, protecting marine life, and preserving the coral reefs that are so vital to the Florida Keys and the planet. Attendees can learn more about their Coral Camp for Kids, Marine Science programming, and year-round community initiatives that inspire locals and visitors alike to make a difference.

Guests can sip on Bloody Marys, mimosas, a full bar, coffee, natural juices, and cut fruit while browsing a vibrant, curated outdoor market featuring fine crafts, art, and jewelry by skilled Florida Keys artisans. Food lovers will enjoy a delicious variety of options from stalls offering eat-here and take-away meals inspired by global cuisines, as well as fresh produce, artisan cheeses, local seafood, honey, baked bread, pastries, cigars, soaps, and much more.

Bring a lawn chair and relax to the sounds of talented local musicians, visit the Key West Wildlife Center for free (donation-based) tours, meet authors from the Key West Writer’s Guild and support featured nonprofits working to protect our community and natural environment.

The pet-friendly market is ideally situated just steps from the Higgs Beach Dog Park, the serene West Martello Tower botanical gardens, and the scenic White Street Pier, with the sparkling Atlantic Ocean right across the street.

The Key West Artisan Market is open every Sunday through April from 10 AM to 2 PM, welcoming locals and visitors to celebrate community, creativity, and island living—by locals, for locals. Mark your calendars for the April 20 Easter edition featuring a free easter egg hunt for kids and the April 27 Conch Republic edition.

Admission and parking are free. Guests are encouraged to ride bikes and BYOB (bring your own bags) to support sustainability.
