The Studios of Key West

Mango Madness Exhibition – On View from June 1st – July 27th

Once upon a time The Studios had the most glorious mango tree on the island. We shared baskets of its golden bounty with our neighbors across the island and chased interlopers out of our yard who’d been drawn by the tree’s sweetness. Every summer we remember its fruit with an exhibition open to all of our members, who are invited to present a work that captures some of what the mango means to us: gratitude for what the island provides, and the joy of sensation – be it taste, smell, the thumping sound as a mango hits the ground, or the divine color that bears its name. Oh, and did we mention Perry Arnold’s Mango Margaritas at the opening? Please, join us!

Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Garden

Native Plant Sale – May 20th, 10 am – 4 pm

We propagate native species for the garden and for sale to the public. We know our native plants are perfect for our demanding Keys environment. Choosing the right ones for your home garden ensures you sustain our fragile ecosystem, feed our migratory birds and butterflies and

preserve the beauty of the islands. Let us help you choose the right native species for your home garden and we promise you will be delighted with the results.

Waterfront Playhouse

Presents: Hedgwig and the Angry Inch – June 6th – June 10th, 8 pm – 9:30 pm

The award winning musical about Hedwig Robinson, a genderqueer East German singer of a fictional rock and roll band. A musical you will never forget!

Our 20th anniversary of the Sea To Sea Diversity Rainbow Flag celebration will be held this year at the Hard Rock Cafe (closing to the public) on Wednesday, June 7th, from 5:30 – 7:30pm. People who carried the original flag 20 years ago are coming back into town! Admission is $20 for a two hour open bar and great light food. The Key West PRIDE street fair will be held near the gay triangle (800 block) of Duval from 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday and the annual PRIDE Parade kicks off from the Truman Waterfront at 5 pm and follows the route of the Fantasy Fest parade down Duval to United.
