Lighting of the 12th annual Key West “Harborwalk of Lights”
Kick off the Season, ignite your holiday spirit and visit the Key West Historic Seaport. It all begins the night before Thanksgiving with the first event of the 2017 Key West “Bight” Before Christmas “Lighting of the Harborwalk.”
The annual Lighting of the Key West “Harborwalk of Lights” will take place on Wednesday evening November 22, 2017 at 6:00pm. The Historic Seaport will transform into a bright, nautical wonderland with more lights this year than ever before. Get to this FREE event on the harborwalk at Greene and Elizabeth Street to be in the best spot in the house. The evening event will include Music, Lights, Giveaways, a Kids Countdown and lots of Holiday Fun.
“I knew that the Historic Seaport could be a magical Holiday destination. Wrapping the
harborwalk with lights reflecting off the water of the old Key West Bight Marina provides Christmas cheer while honoring the maritime history of the Key West waterfront,” said Tom Stroh, event creator and director since its inception in 2006. The Harborwalk of Lights includes a natural pine Nautical Christmas tree with custom ornaments, a towering Christmas Tree made up of hand painted fishing buoys and another one made from illuminated lobster traps, just to name a fun features.
The annual nautical holiday display meanders along the beautiful harborwalk waterfront from Greene Street to the Ferry Terminal. If you cannot make the kickoff on November 22nd, daily lighting will take place at dusk throughout the Holiday Season. The “Bight” before Christmas is part of the islandwide Key West Holiday Fest.
